DRS Project: Ink Blot

My Second Year Animation and Motion Design Class was sent an assignment from Limerick School of Art and Design to create a short clip for the Design Research Society (DRS) to be included as a backdrop for speakers during an event.

We were required to create an animation that represented Art and Design.
My answer to this brief was to simulate an Ink Blot using CGI, as ink/ pigment has been integral to art and design for centuries. Using blender, I was able to choreograph the environment, ink droplet, and lighting colours to match/suit the DRS logo, then composited the clip in after effects to add the logo, and ensure smoothness  when the logo appears.
